FREEBORN COUNTY ASSESSOR REASSESSMENT NOTICE

 

Minnesota Statute requires the assessor to physically inspect properties at least once every five years. Beginning the week of June 23, 2025, you will start seeing Freeborn County Appraisers in the following area taking photos and updating property characteristics to update our records for the 2026 Assessment. As part of the review, you may receive a request from the appraiser for additional information, or to view the inside of your home.  Appraisers will be driving county issued vehicles, wearing safety vests, as well as have identification badges. The reassessment process ensures a fair and equitable assessment of your home.

The Freeborn County Assessor’s Office will be performing reassessments of property for the 2026 assessment for property taxes payable in 2027 in the green highlighted areas and jurisdictions listed below:

Freeborn County is set up under a "true county assessor" system which means all property assessments are conducted by the County.  The County Assessor’s Office is responsible for the valuation and classification of all property within the county for property tax purposes as provided by state law and regulation.
