Records

The Records Department consists of four Support Staff members who are responsible for processing and maintaining crime and arrest records, traffic crash reports, citations, gun permit applications and dissemination of information to the public and other law enforcement agencies.

In compliance with Minn. Stat. § 626.553 and Minn. Stat. § 13.82, subd. 2(d), the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office is releasing body-worn camera footage related to the officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 10, 2025, in rural Albert Lea.

The video being released depicts the use-of-force incident in which an individual died, and is being made public in accordance with Minnesota law requiring such data to be released no later than 14 days after the incident, unless specific conditions prevent disclosure.
