Freeborn County Family Services and Children's Mental Health Collaborative
Our Mission
The Freeborn County Family Services and Children's Mental Health Collaborative facilitates a comprehensive collaboration of providers to foster an environment where families receive needed services to nurture the children of Freeborn County in reaching their potential.
Our Purpose
To foster collaborative prevention and intervention efforts to improve the outcomes, stability and health of all children and families through the coordination of multi-agency services and informal and formal supports within the community by developing a comprehensive system of collaborative service delivery to improve the ability of families to meet the needs of their children.
The Collaborative shall not function as a provider, but shall perform activities that coordinate supports and services, with a goal of system improvement. The Collaborative shall neither replace nor duplicate existing agencies, but shall create and sustain relationships among them. The Collaborative shall strive to achieve goals through the utilization of existing resources by creating a more efficient and effective system.
Priorities
- Children and youth will thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.
- Children and youth experience social connectedness and caring adults in their lives.
- Young children will be ready for school and youth will succeed in their schools and vocations.
- Youth and families experience healthier feelings, functioning, and futures.
- Children, youth, families, and communities develop and apply healthy racial, social, and cultural identities and competencies to attain their full potential.
- Children, youth, and adults will be more informed about mental health and that it’s okay to ask for help and where to turn for additional support, information, and services. *
This Strategic Framework document, revised and approved in September 2016 by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the state’s Collaborative Coordinators, was originally conceived and created in 2009.
